It is Identification. Personality. Individual expression. Solidarity. Commitment and responsibility. It is theological and spiritual but engaged with the physical. Cultural but not bound by culture. Anomalous. Sublime and fallible. It makes a statement about the self and about the world.
Generally, the reason why we buy and wear clothes is because it looks good to us. It is as though design's purpose has no real function other than appealing to our purchasing sensibilities. def.i.ni.ción seeks to strip away the flashiness so what is left is something you would either want to buy or just leave hanging on the rack.

We are not in the business of getting you to buy our clothes just because it looks cool or cute.

The simplicity of our designs actually allows us to tap into the overall personhood of an individual. People might wear something with a busy graphic on it but to what end does the graphic speak to the wearer and to others? With def.i.ni.ción, we are creating clothing that has something to say to the world.
And that's the beauty of it.

A simple word, printed on a piece of fabric, could have so many conclusions, interpretations and functions. A graphic remains a graphic whereas a word becomes a part of a conversation, thought or sentiment. Design and life verbalized.

def.i.ni.ción does not figure life out for you, it just adds a language by which you can understand and expressively journey through it.

It does not end with defining our own lives. As we seek to define ourselves by deeper things, there must be an outflow of something extending beyond ourselves. To help facilitate this, def.i.ni.ción partners with organizations in the business of helping others better define their lives through education, relief, clothing, food, loans, housing, job training, medical attention, and justice. We are not satisfied with limiting def.i.ni.ción's mission and purpose with your purchase. You should not be satisfied as well. Together, there can be more.

With your help, def.i.ni.ción goes across borders, languages, socio-economic status, race and politics to help. It is def.i.ni.ción's mandate to give at least 20% of the total selling price of whatever you purchase. So you see, while they may be just words, in the big picture, those words translate into something of greater, eternal significance.

Being a definisto. Being a definista.

This is what we are about.

Defining life and doing our part.

Thank you for being a part of a new movement.
